Tuesday, November 7, 2023

MATTA will collaborate with Tourism Malaysia and renowned British wildlife portrait artist Rachel Gray.

They are working to launch the ‘Sustainable Malaysia Initiative’ at the Malaysia Tourism Pavilion at World Travel Market 2023.

Rachel Gray creates one large-format model of the popular and endangered Malaysian tiger.

This portrait is converted into a non-fungible token (NFT) through the use of technology. It has intrinsic value and will be put up for auction later in his year.

Proceeds from the auction and sale of non-fungible tokens will be donated to support sustainable tourism at Royal Belum State Park in Perak.

It also aims to sustain the indigenous communities that live there.

For several days from November 6th to 8th, 2023, the world’s attention will be on Malaysia for WTM 2023.

Everyone believes that this event provides a unique opportunity for branding and merchandising. It will also help Malaysia spread the word about ecotourism and the sustainable practices associated with it.

This initiative has the potential to not only support local communities and their conservation efforts, but also bring further awareness to ecotourism products and sustainable tourism in Malaysia.

Hi. Dato’ Roslan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman, Director-General of Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, said:

People in the European market in particular know and love Malaysia’s rich biodiversity.

This is also in line with their focus on promoting Malaysia as the world’s hottest ecotourism destination.

Nigel Wong MATTA President Nigel Wong also expressed his gratitude to Malaysia Airlines Group for its support.

To provide Rachel Gray with a return ticket to London for this important campaign at WTM London.

This is the first collaboration between MATTA, British artist and Sustainable Future.
