Malaysia Airlines departs on maiden journey from Kuala Lumpur to Ahmedabad

Malaysia Airlines celebrated the launch of its first flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD) in Ahmedabad, India. At the send-off event held at KLIA Terminal 1, a special dance performance from North India was performed, and passengers were given souvenir bags as a thank you from Malaysia Airlines, adding a fun touch to their journey.

At 6:50 p.m. local time, flight MH106 departed on its maiden voyage to AMD. The event was moderated by Captain Nasaruddin A. Bakar, Chief Operating Officer of Malaysia Airlines. Chief Commercial Officer of Aviation Dersenish Alexandiran (MAG). Executives from MAG and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) were also present.

This new route will enhance Malaysia Airlines’ services and provide direct connectivity from Kuala Lumpur to nine major hubs in India. This expansion will give passengers more choice and flexibility in traveling between the two countries. Malaysia Airlines already operates direct flights to New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Amritsar and Trivandrum. Furthermore, in response to strong demand and positive load factor performance, the airline announced that it will increase its flights to Amritsar from two times a week to four times a week from January 15, 2024.
