Bernama – Nurul Izzah’s success in India brings new prospects to Malaysian sports world

KUALA LUMPUR, February 26 (Bernama) — National track cyclist Nurul Izza Izati Asli’s success in winning the women’s keirin gold medal at the 2024 Asian Track Cycling Championships (ACC) in New Delhi It not only changed the landscape of cycling, but provided a positive indicator for the future of the sport in this country.

Kedah-born Nurul Izzah defeated China’s Tong Meng Qi at the Indira Gandhi Velodrome in New Delhi, ending her country’s 12-year gold medal drought in women’s keirin.

Azizulhasni also praised Anis Amira Rosidi, who showed great performance during the race and won the bronze medal despite having to compete in the race with an injury.

“To brothers Muhammad Shah Firdaus Salom @shahfirdaus95 and Muhammad Ridwan Shahlom @muhammad_ridwan01, Mr. Azizulhasni also praised their efforts. The brothers never gave up hope and strived for excellence and success. I hope you keep working hard,” he said.
