Born in Tambunan on December 15, 1944, Joseph, 79, has a legal background and holds a Diploma in Public Administration from the MARA Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Laws with Honors from the University of London. He is also a lawyer in London. Inner Temple London.

In the field of politics, he started his political career by joining Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and winning the Souk state seat in the Sabah elections in 1985, and a year later became the party’s general secretary. He took office.

Mr. Krupp, who served as a member of the Souk State Assembly for five terms (1985-1994) under PBS, founded the Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) and became its president in 1994.

Joseph was a founding member and first president of PBRS, which was the Barisan National Constituent Party from 1994 to 2023.

After qualifying for PBRS, he returned to the Sooke Provincial Assembly in 2004 and was elected to the Pensiangan Provincial Assembly for two terms (2008-2013).

During his distinguished career, he held various positions including Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, and Deputy Minister of Rural Development.

Originally from Pensiangan in Keningau State, he has served as Deputy Prime Minister of Sabah, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Deputy Minister of Communications and Business, Deputy Minister of Finance, Deputy Minister of Industrial Development, Deputy Minister of Resources Development and Enterprises, and Deputy Minister of India. youth and sports.

His son Datuk Arthur Joseph Krupp, who was campaigning in Pengsiangan, carried on his father’s will and defended his seat twice in the 2018 and 2022 general elections, and in January 2023, he won the seat from the late Mr Krupp. He took his place as PBRS president.

In 2014, the government agreed to appoint two ministers to be in charge of the funerals of Malaysians who died when Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH17 crashed in Ukraine on July 17 last year, and Krupp said: He was in charge of funerals for non-Muslims.

Krupp is survived by his wife Puan Sri Melinda Mak Sok Fong, son Arthur, and five additional children.
