Afghanistan and Malaysia strengthen ties, paving way for enhanced cooperation – Bakhtar News Agency, BNA

Kabul (BNA) Malaysia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Maulavi Amir Khan Muttaqi held fruitful talks with a Malaysian government delegation and signaled deepening ties between the two countries.

The talks, which took place during the delegation’s visit to Kabul, highlighted Afghanistan’s growing international relations and positive relations with neighboring and regional countries.

The delegation led by Mrs. Shazlina, representing the Prime Minister of Malaysia, conveyed a message from Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Bin Haji Hassan to the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Emirate.

The message highlighted Malaysia’s goodwill and humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, especially in the aftermath of the recent Herat earthquake.

Maulavi Muttaki expressed gratitude for Malaysia’s support and acknowledged the growing diplomatic, religious, cultural and economic ties between the two countries. He emphasized Afghanistan’s balanced foreign policy and its efforts to strengthen ties with Southeast Asian countries, in addition to promoting closer ties with neighboring countries and the wider region.

During the meeting, the Afghan minister also called on the Malaysian government to provide medical and educational facilities to the Afghan community living in Malaysia, which currently numbers around 3,000 people.

In response, members of the Malaysian government delegation expressed the country’s keenness to expand relations with Afghanistan across various sectors.

In concluding remarks for Mrs. Dato’, Dr. Shazlina, on behalf of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, painted a positive picture of the political situation in Afghanistan and expressed hope for the visit of the Malaysian trade delegation to Japan to explore further economic opportunities.
