Sports Direct opens two new flagship stores in Malaysia

Englishman Retail group Frasers is set to open two new Sports Direct flagship stores in Malaysia later this year, with locations confirmed at Mid Valley Mega Mall and Sunway Pyramid.

The Mid Valley Megamall store is located on the second floor of the South Court area and has a spacious area of ​​21,530 square feet. Meanwhile, the Sunway Pyramid store will be located on the ground floor and will have an area of ​​22,117 square feet.

The announcement was made by Frasers Group Asia at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur this week, with the group looking to expand within Southeast Asia, starting with Indonesia, with plans for further growth in Malaysia in 2024. Shared.

Paul Gibbons, Frasers Group Asia Managing Director, said: “We are pushing the boundaries of the traditional retail environment, future-proofing businesses and improving access to products for years to come. “We are creating a shopping environment that is fit for purpose.”

Sports Direct, which recently opened its latest store in Aeon Tebrau, Johor, currently has 34 stores nationwide.

The group also announced that it will open five more new Sports Direct stores at Sunshine Mall Penang, Bintan Mall Miri, Aeon Nilai, Aeon Kota Bharu and Mayan Mall Terengganu by the end of this year.

Sports Direct Store stocks some of the biggest sports and lifestyle brands in the industry, including Nike, Adidas, Puma, Under Armor, New Balance, and Asics. The store also has dedicated sports areas across key categories, including running, football, training and outdoor zones.
