KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 (Bernama) — Telecom giant Ericsson continues to lead the way by continuing to deliver the best 5G network capabilities through the latest technologies, including the acceleration of 5G Advance technology for the Malaysian market. I promise to keep going.

David Hagerbro, Head of Ericsson Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, said that in collaboration with Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB), both companies will work closely together to expand the coverage of 5G networks, ensuring seamless connectivity with the latest technology available. We believe in ensuring the customer experience.

“Our commitment is to ensure that Malaysia is equipped with the latest and greatest technology that we are already seeing today.

“We will continue to be at the forefront when it comes to the latest technology in 5G networks. Our focus now is on how we can leverage this technology to drive the digitalization of businesses.” he told Bernama in an exclusive interview today. .

Ericsson partnered with DNB to collaborate on 5G Advanced in February 2024, ensuring that DNB’s 5G network remains one of the top-performing networks in the world.

Hagerbro also assured that Ericsson’s 5G technology has all the latest features in compliance with international standards, namely the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standards.

“We are working with DNB and Malaysia to ensure that new releases of 3GPP standards for 5G Advance are rolled out in Malaysia.

“One of the benefits we see with 5G Advanced is the enablement of artificial intelligence (AI) and the way the network manages, operates and delivers services to end users and enterprise customers,” he added.

Malaysia has exceeded 80 percent of its 5G network coverage (CoPA) target in densely populated areas as of end-December 2023, with the latest reported value of network coverage at 80.2 percent.

5G advances that benefit businesses

Hagerbro emphasized that Malaysia is leading the way in building digital infrastructure as a nation and the rollout of 5G Advanced could be an opportunity for businesses to accelerate their digitalization efforts.

“Malaysia is in a unique position to emerge as a more competitive country in the region with the latest technological capabilities and digital infrastructure for a better 5G network.

“Utilizing this digital infrastructure to promote digitalization will not only increase the competitiveness of local businesses, but also help attract foreign investment to Malaysia,” he said.

Hagerbro said it is important that the entire ecosystem works together to reap the benefits of increased connectivity, such as cloud services, to enable businesses to adopt and evolve digitally.
