Bogdanov discusses Gaza situation and regional issues with BRICS envoys

Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian President’s special envoy for the Middle East and Africa, discussed the situation in Gaza, the Libyan file, and regional issues with the envoys of the BRICS group of Middle Eastern countries.

“The discussion on pressing regional issues focused on the catastrophic situation in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone and the need for a ceasefire as soon as possible in the Gaza Strip,” a statement from the Russian embassy in Libya said.

Views were also exchanged on ways to support efforts towards normalizing the situation and comprehensively resolving the crises in Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Libya and Yemen.

The meeting was attended for the first time by representatives of Egypt, Iran, the UAE, Ethiopia, and recent BRICS members, including Russia, China, India, Brazil, and South Africa.
