5,000 people gathered at the Deputy Minister’s public house

Kota Samarahan: More than 5,000 people gathered at the Kota Samarahan Civic Center on Sunday to celebrate Deputy Rural Development Minister Datuk Rubia Wan’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House.

The event was attended by prominent regional figures including Prime Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar and Dr Sim Kui Hian.

Federal Minister for Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri and Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamza were also present.

The celebration, which took place from 10am to 3pm, attracted residents from across the Kota Samarahan region, including Asajaya, Muara Tuan and Sutakan.

A variety of dishes were prepared in collaboration with agencies under the Deputy Minister, including the Ministry of Regional Development (KEMAS), Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Sarawak Rubber Industry and Smallholder Development Authority (RISDA), and Federal Land Consolidation. The highlight of the event was the symbolic handover of donations to 80 potential Hajj pilgrims under the Ukhwa Program P197 Kota Samarahan, an annual initiative to support local Hajj pilgrims .

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Abang Johari, who presented the award to Mr. Penful Seraie Sagiri of Kampung Sindang Baru and Mr. Ustaz Aswat Osen of Kampungman, Samarahan Province.
