A nation’s political stability is the pillar of its strength

Kuching: Sarawak’s political stability is a force that keeps the nation stable.

Prime Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said this, saying that the strength of the country can be seen by the appointment of a deputy prime minister from Sarawak who takes into account the interests of the entire country. .

“Many people say that Sarawak only politically represents the rights of Sarawak, and some say that Sarawak only represents Sarawak’s own rights, but I believe that Sarawak is only representing Sarawak’s rights politically. If the state is strong, then Malaysia is also strong, and if Sarawak is not strong then Malaysia is not strong either.

“We still help each other. That is why they (the federal government) appointed a Sarawakian as deputy prime minister because it contributes to a stable government in Malaysia, promotes national unity and contributes to nation building.” “This is because of our strength in working together,” he said.

He said this during the Hopoh Se Malaysia Festival here this evening (April 28).

Abang Johari reflected Sarawak’s cultural diversity and emphasized Sarawak’s spirit of unity that transcends ethnic and religious boundaries, which was evident in the evening’s performance, which also included Iban and Malay youth. .

“That’s the culture we have, regardless of our ethnic background or religious beliefs. We mix, that’s Sarawak,” he said.

Abang Johari also spoke about the hard work of the Hakka Hopo community, which has always emphasized education and business success, and its readiness to cooperate with people of other races.

At the event, he welcomed visitors from all over Malaysia, as well as representatives from Singapore and Brunei, and said the festival symbolizes unity within the Hopoh community.

Earlier, Sarawak Hopaw Association president Datuk Dr Chai Kin Chun said the annual festival is an important event for all Hopo people across Malaysia.

“As the organizer of this festival, Sarawak Hopaw Association is proud to contribute to the unification and preservation of Hopo culture within Malaysia’s multicultural society.
