Utama, Azam Toastmaster wins speech contest

Kuching: Toastmasters International District 87, Division D honored accomplished orators at a speech contest held recently at i-CATS University, including Teo Sue Loon, Stanley Gona Chee Keeong, and Abdul Hadi Abdul. Kadir was crowned the winner in each category.

Teo from Utama Toastmasters Club won the International Speech Contest. Clubmate Stanley Gona Chee Keong won the top prize in the evaluation contest, while Abdul Hadi Abdul Kadir from the Azam Toastmasters Club won the table topics (impromptu speech) contest.

These contests were part of a series held on Saturday and involved various Toastmasters clubs from Areas D1 and D2 of Division D.

“These events are integral to our educational program and provide both a platform for experienced Toastmasters to improve their public speaking skills and a learning opportunity for others to observe seasoned speakers. “We will provide this,” the company said in a statement.

The competition showcased the best speakers from previous competitions held at the club and area level earlier this year.

The winners will now represent Division D in the upcoming district-level speech contest that is part of the 14th Toastmasters International District 87 Annual Conference to be held in Kota Kinabalu from May 17 to 19. .
