USDT Issuer Tether Invests $200M in Brain-Computer Interface Company Blackrock Neurotech

Tether, the issuer of stablecoin USDT, announced on Monday that it has invested $200 million through its venture capital arm Tether Evo to acquire a majority stake in brain-computer interface company BlackRock Neurotech.

Blackrock Neurotech aims to develop medical devices that harness brain signals to help people suffering from paralysis and neurological disorders.

The technology company is not affiliated with asset management giant BlackRock.

The investment will also fund medical device deployment and commercialization, as well as research and development purposes, according to a press release.

Tether is the company behind USDT, the largest stablecoin with a market capitalization of $110 billion. Recently, he established four divisions to help Tether expand beyond stablecoin issuance.
