Tesco rebrands in Malaysia and Thailand after acquisition of CP Group
Thai agribusiness conglomerate Charoen Pokpan (CP) Group has rebranded Tesco in Thailand as Tesco Lotus after the UK’s Tesco parent sold its Malaysian and Thai operations to CP Group for $10.6 billion last year. Changed to A new mini-supermarket brand, Tesco Lotus Express, was also announced. Tesco Malaysia has been renamed Lotus Stores (Malaysia).

This will end the British hypermarket chain’s 23-year presence in Thailand. Of his over 2,000 stores across the country, 400 are hypermarkets and Tara Lotus, while the remaining 1,600 of his stores are mini-supermarkets.

The rebranding work in Malaysia is expected to be completed by the end of this year, and the company currently employs more than 8,600 people across one headquarters, two distribution centers and 62 stores across Peninsular Malaysia. the brand said on its Facebook page.
