BMW iX1 eDrive20 M Sport: Official price in Malaysia

BMW Malaysia recently announced the arrival of the iX1 eDrive20 M Sport. This is currently the company’s most affordable all-electric SUV. Unlike the BMW iX1 xDrive30 M Sport launched last year, this cheaper model has a single motor on the front axle, giving it a slightly longer range.

The BMW iX1 eDrive20 M Sport is the entry-level model and is powered by a single motor developing 150kW (201hp) and 250Nm of torque. The front-wheel drive electric SUV accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 170 km/h. As a comparison, the dual-motor iX1 xDrive30 boasts 230kW (308hp) and 494Nm of torque, achieving 0-100km/h in 5.6 seconds and a top speed of 180km/h.

For Malaysia, the BMW iX1 eDrive20 continues to receive the same M Sport kit treatment as the iX1 xDrive30 variant. This includes 19-inch M double-spoke wheels, an M leather steering wheel and sports seats for front passengers.

The biggest way to communicate this is that the new iX1 eDrive20 has a unique BMW iX-style kidney grille pattern, which differs from the previous xDrive30 version with vertical lines that mimic the look of a traditional grille. According to BMW, the iX1 eDrive20 M Sport has a range of 120 km after just 10 minutes of charging. A full charge on AC takes over 6 hours, while a 10-80% charge on DC takes about 30 minutes.
