Church in Vrontados, Greece takes part in annual ‘Rocket Wars’

As part of the Greek Orthodox Easter tradition, two churches in the Greek town of Vrontados were lit up and fired rockets at each other on Saturday night.

Easter Mass continues inside a church on the island of Chios during the annual “Rocket Wars”.

This sight dates back to the 1800s when Greece was ruled by the Ottoman Empire, but now rockets are used instead of cannons.

Parts of the local area have been covered with metal barriers to prevent fire damage.
