Kampung Sadir resident jailed and fined RM1,000 for hurting his wife

Kuching: A 29-year-old man who injured his wife was sentenced to four months’ imprisonment and a fine of RM1,000 by a local magistrate court on Monday (May 6).

Rosion Edicion Linggu, 29, an unemployed man from Kampung Sadir, pleaded guilty to a charge read with Article 323 of the Penal Code and Article 326A of the same law.

Based on the charges, he is suspected of intentionally harming his 30-year-old wife from Indonesia at around 11:00 pm on April 27, 2024, at their longhouse in Kampung Sadir, Puncak Road, Borneo. It is.

Judge Sharifa Fatima Azra Wan Ali ordered the suspect to serve one month in prison if he did not pay the fine.

According to the facts of the case, there was an argument between the two during the incident due to Rosion being dissatisfied with his wife who only gave him RM200.

The money given was not enough, so Rosan forced his wife to find more money by any means necessary.

However, she told Ms. Rosion that it was embarrassing to borrow money from her neighbor because she didn’t know how to repay the money she borrowed.

As a result of the argument, Rossion became aggressive, punching his wife in the face, kicking her in the back several times, and throwing a chair at her.

She suffered bruises to the back of her body and left eye.

Concerned for her safety, the victim called the police to take action, leading to Rosion’s arrest.

The prosecutor, Inspector Amarsofi Yusof, prosecuted the case while the defendant was not represented by a lawyer.
