Two houses turned into ashes

mm: A devastating fire gutted two non-permanent one-story wooden houses in Kampung Setingan Pujut, causing both buildings to be completely destroyed.

The first house, 30 by 15 square feet, and the second, 10 by 12 square feet, were reduced to ashes in the flames.

Fortunately, all seven crew members were safe.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Operations Center was alerted to the fire through an emergency call to MERS 999 at 1:31pm.

Firefighters from Lopen and Miri fire stations quickly responded to the scene.

Firefighting teams used a 60-metre hose with two nozzles and an auxiliary water outlet to tackle the blaze by pumping water from a nearby fire hydrant.

Despite their efforts, both houses were completely destroyed, leaving only charred remains.

The operation ended at 2:55 p.m., and authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
