Chinese tourism to Malaysia expected to exceed pre-COVID levels by end of 2024, association president says

Yang Wanming, chairman of the China People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), said that as the two countries mark the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties this year, exchanges and people-to-people movements at all levels will increase, further strengthening ties between the two countries’ people-to-people ties.

He highlighted Malaysia’s popularity as a travel destination among Chinese tourists and predicted that the number of Chinese tourists visiting Malaysia by the end of this year will surpass pre-pandemic figures in 2019.

Yang further stressed the importance of promoting cultural and artistic exchanges between Malaysia and China, as well as involving young leaders in these efforts.
