Shusha, the pearl of Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region, exhibition opens in Malaysia

According to News.Az, an exhibition titled “Journey to Karabakh through Colors” was opened in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

The exhibition is organized as part of the project “Shusha through Malaysian Eyes” and is organized with financial support from the Agency for National Support of Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan in partnership with “Sommaz Mashal” Public Union for Cultural Relations, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Malaysia and the National Museum of Azerbaijan.

The exhibition features around 30 paintings by Azerbaijani artists on the subject of Shusha.

Maison Omar, director of the KL Jazz and Arts Centre in Kuala Lumpur, opened the exhibition.

Speaking at the event, Counselor at the Azerbaijan Embassy in Malaysia Elsever Salmanov highlighted the history of Shusha as a historical and cultural centre for Azerbaijanis.

Participants in the event were given a booklet titled “Songs of Shusha and Karabakh” in Azerbaijani and English and were also given the opportunity to sample Shusha cuisine.
