Shiba Inu Future Contracts May Lead To SHIB Spot ETF

The Shiba Inu community is excited about the notable developments that may lead to a Shiba Inu ETF becoming a reality. Coinbase’s significant filing could amplify the prospects for a Shiba Inu ETF and send ripples of optimism throughout the Shiba Inu community.

Coinbase applies for regulated futures trading permission

Last week, Coinbase Derivatives, along with Stellar (XLM), Chainlink (LINK), Polkadot (DOT) and Avalanche (AVAX), applied to the U.S. CFTC for permission to launch a regulated futures contract for Shiba Inu. Coinbase plans to launch the new futures contract on July 15, pending CFTC approval.

Shiba Inu’s social media manager, RagnarShiba, addressed Coinbase’s latest move in its Shiba Inu Futures filing with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Investors and enthusiasts are closely watching how the CFTC responds to Coinbase’s filing.

Regulated Futures Benefit Investors

Notably, Altcoin Daily also suggested that the upcoming launch of Coinbase Derivatives’ CFTC-regulated Shiba Inu futures contract could pave the way for a spot ETF.

Altcoin Daily, in its post on X, also highlighted the benefits of the service for US investors. Experts say regulated futures contracts offer investors transparency, regulatory oversight, a compliant trading environment and improved risk management. They also point out that these products can often lead to the launch of spot ETFs for related assets.

Scott Melker, host of the podcast Wolf of All Streets, also emphasized that the approval of ETFs has led to an influx of institutional capital into the cryptocurrency market, noting that some products already exist in overseas markets, with the U.S. lagging behind.

Will SHIB be the next BTC, ETH?

Altcoin Daily also argued that Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs were approved because futures contracts were regulated from the start.

The ETF offers investors a more accessible way to invest in the asset, allowing a wider range of investors to speculate on the price of Shiba Inu without having to buy and store the digital token directly.
