Malaysia Tourism Board launches ‘Durian Tourism’ travel package

Malaysia Tourism Recently, they released a travel package for fans of the “King of Fruits.”

We have announced the “Durian Tourism Package 2024/2025”.

“The tourism packages include a variety of options, including golf trips, glamping experiences and fascinating sightseeing tours,” the company said in a statement.

Malaysia is one of the few countries in Southeast Asia where durian is cultivated.

It is also found in Indonesia and Thailand.

This precious fruit is known for its strong, pungent smell, but its unique taste and texture are unmatched.

The outer skin is a tan, spiky skin, and the inner “fruit” has a meaty texture.

Durian often makes headlines because of its smell.

An Indonesian flight was delayed after several passengers became nauseous due to durian fruit in the cargo hold.

The smell has set off gas leak alarms in apartment complexes and university campuses in the UK, Germany and Australia.

A Chinese driver who tested positive for drink driving successfully had the charges dropped after proving he had just eaten durian.

The late food critic Anthony Bourdain said of durian: “When you breathe on it, it will smell like you’ve just French kissed your late grandmother.”

Tourism Malaysia expects the package to generate more than $400,000 in revenue.
