Renovations at the SUKMA venue to be completed by August

Bintulu: Renovation work at Muhibah Stadium and Bintulu Open Air Stadium is expected to be completed by August this year in time for the upcoming 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA).

Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) CEO and Sarawak Sports Council director Awang Putrayusri Awang Redzuan said work on both stadiums was progressing as scheduled.

He said the work was important to keep the facility in tip-top condition to host athletes from around the country.

“We want to renovate these two stadiums under SSC to present the best possible image to athletes from outside Sarawak,” he said after a recent tour of several sports facilities in Sarawak.

During his visit, he inspected the condition of SUKMA venues including Muhibah Stadium for sepak takraw, Bintulu Outdoor Stadium for football and Nam Paragon Street Mall for Muay Thai.

Also present were Bintulu State Sports Council president Jolene Leong and Bintulu Outdoor Stadium supervisor Kederi Yusof.
