Sarawak dancesport athletes shine at Hanoi Stars Dance Festival

Kuching: Sarawak dancesport athletes Eunice Ling and Cordelia Wee showed off their skills at the recent Hanoi Stars Dance Festival in Bac Ninh Province, winning numerous medals.

The Sarawak Dancesport Association announced that the duo combined to win two gold medals, two silver medals and three bronze medals.

Eunice Linh emerged as the standout performer in the Hanoi Rising Star Junior II single dance competition, winning two gold medals in samba and paso doble, one silver medal in jive, and two bronze medals in rumba and cha-cha-cha.

In the WDSF Youth Solo Latin and Junior II Solo Latin events, Lynn achieved respectable results, placing 5th and 7th respectively.

Wie recovered from a slow start to win bronze in the Asia Star Adult category, then impressed with her silver medal in the Hanoi Rising Star Adult Female Single Dance category with her samba dance performance.

Wie also placed fourth and fifth in the Paso Doble and Rumba competitions, respectively.

Young teammates Erin Ng, Arabelle Lia and Valerie Chong faced tough competition but still performed well in their events, reaching the quarterfinals and semifinals.

Overall, Russell & Randell Dance Company team coach Cindy Chan expressed satisfaction with the dancers’ overall achievement, noting the potential for further progress in future competitions.

The dance festival took place from July 5th to 7th.
