MANILA — Makati FC claimed two wins in the recently concluded 2023 Malaysia Borneo Football Cup in Kota Kinabalu.


The Philippine youth club defeated Malaysia’s FC Setia Alam 2-1 to win the under-12 boys tournament for the first time.


Makati FC’s scorers were Sho Hakamada and Rafa Aprilio.


They also won the boys under 13 division, defeating TABS Malaysia 3-1. Alphan Lomibao, Bryant Monsanto and Jomon Ortigas found the net for Makati FC.


This is Makati FC’s first title at the under-13 youth level, surpassing their runner-up finish in 2019, when they lost to Indonesia’s IJL Elite in the final.


Makati FC, along with Asia’s top youth clubs, has been invited to attend FCB 7, which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand on November 25th and 26th. Teams participate.
