    exterior

The BMW iX1 eDrive20 M Sport has a modern and sophisticated design. The X-shaped closed kidney grille is distinctive and gives it a sporty look. Unlike its sibling model with traditional vertical slats, the eDrive20 M Sport features a solid pattern panel grille exclusive to the variant.

The grille is framed by modern three-dimensional LED headlights and eye-catching daytime running lights for added style. On the sides, flush door handles and distinctive square wheel arches are typical of BMW X models. At the rear, classic L-shaped taillights contribute to the overall stylish and sophisticated look.

Part of the M Sport exterior package includes sportier bumpers, blacked-out details, M adaptive suspension and 19-inch M double-spoke style 871 M light-alloy bicolor wheels.

    interior

Like its Premium sibling, the eDrive20 M Sport interior features a striking BMW Curved Display with a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and 10.7-inch infotainment display running BMW Operating System 9. This advanced setup is combined with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It also offers an intuitive user interface through BMW Live Cockpit Professional, improving the overall driving experience.

In terms of upholstery, the eDrive20 M Sport offers a choice of Veganza synthetic leather or a combination of Alcantara and Veganza. This differs from the xDrive30 M Sport, which features Vernasca leather or his Alcantara/Sensatec combination upholstery. Both models share a ‘hexacube’ design interior trim, albeit with a dark finish, adding a touch of sophistication to the cabin.

Also part of the kit is a head-up display, powered M sports seats, two-zone automatic climate control and a Harman Kardon HiFi sound system.

    Drivetrain, range and charging

What really sets the new iX1 variant apart from its predecessor is the drivetrain. The eDrive20 model is equipped with a single motor at the front and generates a maximum output of 204 PS and a maximum torque of 250 Nm when the temporary boost function is activated. The xDrive30 version, on the other hand, features a dual-motor setup and offers more robust performance with up to 313 PS and 494 Nm of peak torque when boosted.

The eDrive20 accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and has a top speed of 170 km/h. On the other hand, the xDrive30 has an acceleration time of his 5.6 seconds and a slightly higher top speed of 180 km/h.

As for the battery pack, both trims share the same 66.5 kWh lithium-ion unit with the same charging capabilities. Supports up to 11 kW AC input, can be fully charged in 6.5 hours, and up to 130 kW DC fast charge his SoC from 10% to 50% in just 29 minutes.

However, in terms of range, the eDrive20 outperforms the xDrive30, with a range of 438 km to 475 km.

    safety

The eDrive20 M Sport comes standard with the Driving Assistant package, which includes systems such as lane change warning, rear cross-traffic alert with brake intervention, exit warning, rear collision prevention and automatic emergency braking. For increased parking safety, Parking Assistant Plus with 360-degree camera is included as standard.

Customers can opt for the Driving Assistant Plus package (available on higher-spec models), which offers advanced features such as steering and lane control assistant and active cruise control with stop-and-go functionality.
