Hongkongers can now visit Malaysia and stay for 90 days without a visa, as Malaysia has changed its policy for Hong Kong passport holders.

They will be able to stay for 90 days, as opposed to the current 30-day stay period, allowing for a more relaxing trip for those looking to spend more time in the Southeast Asian country.

according to bloomberg According to reports, the Hong Kong government has asked the Malaysian government to make changes. Officials familiar with the development reported that a formal announcement will be made on July 27th.

The move is a return to the 90-day visa-free travel that Malaysians currently enjoy in Hong Kong, and is aimed at establishing closer ties between the two regions. Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee will arrive in Malaysia on July 27 for a week-long tour. His agenda includes discussing investment opportunities in the financial hub, besides strengthening ties between Hong Kong and Malaysia.
